About me
Thanks for visiting my website!
I'm a printmaker/artist based in Levenshulme, Manchester.
My work is inspired by the scenes and everyday objects around me, things that catch my eye that I want to hold in the light so other people can see them too.
I work in a variety of media, but focus mainly on etching, screen printing and lino. I can't say which is my favourite as I like them all!
My aim is to distil the essence of a subject into a bold, simple form that still retains the atmosphere and essential detail. I have experimented with shaped zinc plates, inspired by Renaissance oil paintings, and the introduction of 'interference' on the plate. I like to exploit the compromises and quirks inherent in print making.
I am influenced by Pop Art and graphic images and I'm always experimenting with different styles and techniques, but I think my work retains a distinctive style.
My most recent work is a series of etchings of scenes and objects in and around the Haworth Museum in Accrington, which were exhibited at the museum in Summer 2025, with my printmaking group, Reveal Printmakers.
The image below won first prize in the Salford Museum and Art Gallery Summer Show 2018!
